NordSESIL workshop following from the ARTEK conference on "Sustainable Energy Supply in the Arctic" 4-5 March 2008, Sisimiut, Greenland Working materials and outcomes from the workshop will be available soon. The workshop was a great success and hopefully stimulated a number of specific projects as a consequence of bringing motivated and capable local people together, and showing them what steps they can take together to identify and access alternative energy solutions.
Arctic Frontiers Conference and Young Scientist Forum on "Petroleum activities in the Arctic and sound management - the need for research" 20-30 January 2008, Tromsų, Norway David Pointing was selected, on behalf of NordSESIL, to attend the conference and Forum with approximately 40 other young researchers. The YSF group attended the 5 days of conference, with David presenting a poster on the Network, and then an additional 5 days of workshops and group activities that focused on sustainable energy supply and oil and gas issues in the arctic region. Photos of the activities of the 10 days are shown.
Arctic Energy Summit 15-19 October 2007, Anchorage, Alaska, United States of America This large international conference, arranged under the banner of the International Polar Year, provided a mechanism to connect with communities and energy professionals from around the world with a strong interest on Arctic energy issues.
